Just A Reminder...
...that God really does, "watch over My Word to perform it." (Jer. 1:12)
Specifically the part about, "Bring the tithe into the storehouse...and I will open to you the windows of Heaven." (Mal. 3:10). How have I been reminded of this recently, you may ask. Well, this last Sunday I wrote a tithe check for the first time in three months. Yes I know, that is shocking but it wasn't because I was being a heathen and not giving them. There were legitimate reasons it was so long. However, needless to say it was a very large check and not one simply given away with no thought. One of the thoughts, as I put it into the tithes and offerings box, was 'Well God, you've made promises about giving and tithing and I put my trust in you and your promises.'
That was about 10am. Seven hours later I was on the phone with my boss finding out where I was working the next day. As we were wrapping the conversation, he brought up the subject of having a review (usually code for raise) within the next week. Not only that but he also mentioned my school reimbursement which I had sent in the paperwork for four months earlier. Coincidence? Maybe, but I think more likely God reminding me that He is involved personally in my (and our) life.
On a much sadder note, I admitted today that winter has pretty much begun. I've seen snow flurries, it has dropped below the freezing mark several times, I've had to scrape my windows in the morning, I've pulled out (and worn) my winter coat, the sun is going down at four; but today was the crowning event. I wore two pair of pants. Yes this morning I got up, went outside to start my car warming up and realized that my pair of jeans wasn't going to be good enough by themselves, I had to put on another pair underneath them. Sigh...the beginning of the end.
At least until April anyway.

Funny how God always seems to come through... :)
I weep with you about the winter; my early morning pilgrimages to and from Fairview to make breakfast have been accomplished in a far shorter time than before, despite the extra layers of clothing. "Ahhh, cold, cold cold!" I just hope I don't have to end up borrowing Gerry's snowshoes...
Ah, the joys of cold weather. It is cold here too. I had to wear a sweater while out shopping this morning. Course, it is going to get down to 20 tonight- maybe I should take my jacket when I go to work later today....
April is SO far away *cries*
oh well. I have eggnog to console me :-)
A much sadder note? The best thing about the cold is that it makes the grass stop growing.
April is the beginning of the end, in my opinion. :)
glad you saw God's hand on your oppertunities, so many don't!!
Your story about the tithe and the subsequent developments were a good reminder of God's faithfulness.
